Privacy policy
Nearby Navratri is a free garba map with no accounts and no sign-in. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to opt out.
Your location
"Show garbas near me" uses your location only inside your browser, to sort garbas by distance. It is never sent to us or stored. We remember only that you allowed it, so we don't ask again.
Things you send us
- Adding or reporting a garba. We keep what you enter so we can review it, including your name and the phone number or email you give. We use them only to confirm or fix that listing. We never show them on the site and never share them.
- Applying as a city partner. We keep your brand, Instagram handle, contact details and logo so we can reply and, if approved, show your brand's name, handle and logo on the site.
- Saving a garba. Your browser sends the garba and a random device ID (not linked to you) so we can show counts like "42 saved".
To stop spam we keep a one-way code made from your IP address, never the address itself. Ask us to delete anything you sent at any time (see Contact below).
Analytics and advertising features
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages and garbas people open, and taps like Directions, Book passes, Save and Share. We never send it your name, phone number, email or location. Google sees your IP address to estimate your city and country, and keeps this data for 14 months.
We have turned on Google signals, one of Google's advertising features. For visitors signed in to Google who allow ad personalisation, Google gives us totals by age range, gender and interests. We only ever see totals, never who you are. We don't run ads or sell data.
How Google uses this data: Google's partner sites policy.
Cookies and storage
- Google Analytics cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) tell visits from the same browser apart. They last up to 2 years. - Your browser's local storage remembers your city, theme, saved plan, the device ID used for save counts, and whether you allowed location. It stays on your device and the site works without it.
Links to other sites
Directions open Google Maps, and Book passes opens the organiser's ticketing site. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Opting out
- Turn off ad personalisation in your Google ad settings. Google then stops sharing your age, gender and interests with us.
- Block Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser. The map keeps working.
- Clear this site's data in your browser to remove everything stored on your device.
